Signia launches new Active, instant fit hearing aids.
With the explosion of ear bud Bluetooth technology, we have had lots of patients ask why hearing aid manufacturers can’t design hearing aids that look like ear pods but work like hearing aids.
Now thanks to Signia, we can! Introducing their latest innovation, the Active X instant fit hearing aids bridge the gap between hearing aids and Bluetooth electronics.
The Active X devices have a receiver suitable for those requiring amplification for a mild to severe degree of hearing loss, however are also targeted towards those with normal hearing that struggle in challenging social listening environments. Research studies show that between 12% and 20% of adults with normal audiogram thresholds self-report hearing difficulties, suggesting that these individuals could benefit from a boost in their hearing performance. Signia Active features customised technology with advanced hearing support in the functional design of an earbud to attract individuals who might not otherwise wear hearing aids. Whether walking in a crowded street, working in an open-plan office, or dining in a busy restaurant, high-levels of ambient noise make holding conversations a significant challenge – made worse for those with a mild hearing loss.
Signia Active addresses these challenges with the true-to-life sound of Signia Xperience technology and its innovative Dynamic Soundscape Processing, which delivers enhanced sound and speech clarity in every situation, even when moving.
Signia Active devices are fully rechargeable, housing a lithium-ion rechargeable battery with a convenient portable charging case. On a single 4 hour charge, the earbuds have a runtime of 26 hours; or 23 hours runtime with 2 hours of streaming. The Bluetooth connectivity also allows for easy streaming of media and phone calls directly to the ears from a smart phone. Taking it one step further, Signia have introduced a smart phone application which allows users to adjust hearing aid volume, clarity and microphone polarity to customise their listening experience. The app also includes the Signia Assistant, which leverages artificial intelligence to continuously optimize the performance of the device by learning in real time the wearer’s individual preferences and the option of remote care fine tuning. This allows the clinician to make adjustments to the users hearing aids remotely.
