Swiss manufacturer Phonak has released the world’s first custom hearing aid featuring the ability for hands-free phone calls that directly streams audio content from Apple, Android and other classic Bluetooth enabled devices straight to the patient’s ears and tailored to their hearing loss.
With Biometric Calibration, Phonak Virto Marvel hearing aids are precisely calibrated to the individuals ear anatomy. Identifying over 1600 biometric data points, it then calculates the unique calibration settings for each Virto Marvel hearing aid. This allows for both a comfortable physical fit in the external auditory meatus and increased accuracy and precision in providing directionality and clarity of day to day sounds.
The device is available in a number of colours, including a stylish black finish, looking more like a “hearable device” rather than a hearing aid.
In addition to receiving Bluetooth signals, Virto Marvel hearing aids also act as a voice transmitter. This means a patient can answer phone calls and be heard through their devices without needing an external microphone transmitter. The mobile phone can therefore be up to 10 meters away whilst still allowing for audio streaming. Patient’s can enjoy streaming TV programs, movies, e-books, music, podcasts, radio and so much more.
