Spotlight on Hearing Aid Batteries

Different batteries are based on different chemical reactions in order for them to provide power. Hearing aid batteries are most commonly Zinc-Air batteries. Advances in zinc-air chemistry and battery cell engineering make it possible to provide more consistent power in ever-shrinking cell sizes.

Rayovac, one of the largest manufacturers of zinc air batteries, recently stated that they believed zinc air batteries “would probably be the most widely used battery type in the world, surpassing even alkaline batteries in popularity, if not for one problem: “those pesky air holes”.

So what is the problem with those holes?

Victorian Hearing welcomes new audiologist

We are pleased to welcome Patrice Lockwood to our team. Patrice graduated from Macquarie University in 1995 and after realising Audiology was her passion, she returned to University to complete a Masters of Audiology in 1998. Patrice worked in the UK at the Neurology and Neurosurgery Hospital and Northampton Hospital, returned to Australia to a management role in Sydney before deciding to give up surfing before work every morning to relocate to Melbourne for a year or so…and that was 11 years ago!
